DIY Wooden & Metal Shelves

This weekend was the first in months that we had the weekend to spend at home (insert celebratory emoji here ** wahoo)! So we decided to tackle one of the items on our long to-do list – shelves for the kitchen! I originally was interested in using strips of cowhide and a wood plank like you see here, but decided that it wouldn’t go well in my all white kitchen & possibly wouldn’t hold as much weight as we wanted. So we’ve

I’ve developed a slight obsession with succulents this year. I’m not exactly sure why, but it could be from unsuccessfully starting a garden in the fall (my townhouse just doesn’t get enough sunlight!) or just the fact that some combination of succulents can look absolutely gorgeous and require very little attention to maintain. There are so many varieties of succulents and countless ways to display them. Below are a few that gave me inspiration on how to display mine. This,

It’s that time of year again! Love is in the air, stores are stocked with candy, and little kids hearts are pounding while they decide on which valentine card is p-e-r-f-e-c-t for their crush. I’ve never been the one to go ‘all-out’ on Valentine’s day but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy some great valentine themed crafts. I’m excited to grab only an appetizer and a dessert (we’re crazy! I know!) this valentine’s day since I don’t think I can

Paint Dipped Chair Legs I bought a table on craigslist a few months ago. Just a simple white table that I knew I’d add my own creative touches to. I’m eventually going to re-cover the seats. For now though – just putting boots on chairs! This is a super simple craft and requires only a few materials. In fact, I had all of the materials around my house and didn’t have to spend any money – I love free crafts!

Holiday Gift Idea! Here is a great and easy holiday gift idea for all of you, painted coffee mugs! These are a simple and quick craft to give as a gift or to add to your own collection of coffee mugs. I’ve actually had these mugs for 5+ years, I picked them up at T.J. Maxx when I got my first apartment. They ran me about $2.99/mug. I decided to use gold spray paint since I already had some (and

I had some old frames lying around that I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with them. I almost made them into earring holders but found better frames to make those instead (tutorial coming soon!). Clearly I went searching on pinterest when I finally came across something this post that inspired me! I’ve seen several different ideas that use fall leaves on display in a vase or frame. I loved the idea and went searching for leaves around

I love gold spray paint…. Who doesn’t love gold painted pumpkins? What You’ll Need: little pumpkins (grabbed mine for 50 cents each at a pumpkin patch!) painters tape (or any tape really) gold spray paint Wipe down/wash the pumpkins as best you can. I had this awesome vase that I filled with sea shells I collect, but it wasn’t very practical to just be sitting around in my small living room. So I went on a mission to make it into a lamp! You’ll find the original post to create the faux cork here! This is the post that inspired me to make mine into a lamp! What You’ll Need: The basic lamp kits that you buy at Lowe’s and you may need a
